Suominen has introduced Fibrella Perf Spunlace, a new range of apertured substrates for the South American medical markets. The range offers solutions suitable for traditional and advanced wound care as well as surgical applications.

Fibrella Perf nonwovens feature superior levels of safety, softness and comfort. Being breathable, skin-friendly, low-linting and very absorbent, Fibrella Perf has all the properties required of a best-in-class wound care product. In surgical laminates and apparel, Fibrella Perf offers excellent liquid transfer properties and absorbency. In addition, Fibrella Perf range offers choice for various sterilization methods.

“Suominen’s Fibrella products have served the medical markets in wound care and surgical products already for decades in Europe and North America. Now we are able to even better serve our customers in South America as we will start local production of Fibrella Perf at our Paulínia plant in Brazil,” says Marika Mäkilä, product manager for Medical applications.

Fibrella Perf product range will be launched at Outlook Plus Latin America 2015 in Sao Paulo, Brazil this week and will be available in the fourth quarter.

In January, Suominen launched Fibrella lightweight nonwovens, billing them as an ideal choice in hygiene and medical application. The nonwovnes producer has earmarked diversification into new markets a top growth priority moving forward.
